Pay It Back - Special Memorial
In this Pay It Back it was our turn to give just a little bit back to a family that's given us everything.
I lost a really good friend -- Eric Purvis. We were best of buds in high school and had more memories than I count. [Pix: Eric is far left, I'm beside him]
Eric was serving our country for the last 14 years as Lt. Commander in the Navy, piloting an HH-60 helicopter as part of an Anti-submarine Squadron homeported in San Diego. As some of you may have heard last week, his chopper went down in a training exercise about 15 miles off the coast of San Diego. All five people on board died. [Pix: Eric is 2nd to left]
Eric is survived by his wife, Karen, and three children ... the youngest being born just weeks before his death.
I'm so proud of all of you who donated to the memorial fund set up for Eric's kids. You guys are really an amazing group of clients. Together, we were able to raise more than $2000. [pix of me, Eric's 3 year old son, Owen, and Karen]
"Eric, words won't say the gratitude we have for your service to our country. May God's peace, protection, and blessing be with your family."
